Landscape Design – English Garden Daylesford
Traditional English gardens are beautiful and we can provide landscape designs, landscape plans, tree reports and consulting arborist services for them.
A Melbourne couple retired to Castlemaine in Central Victoria.
Landscapes by Design had previously created landscape designs for them and we were re-employed to rejuvenate this older English garden and provide a new landscape design and planting plan for their newly renovated home.
The tired but beautiful old home was set on four acres and plans were being made for significant internal renovations, a new deck to the rear, installation of a bore for irrigation, a bocce court, and lots of tidying up to renew the older neglected garden.
Valuable years working with my father at the beginning of my career in some fine old Toorak gardens had equipped me with a wealth of ideas.
We had a great existing canopy structure, an of old mature walnut, variegated holly, advanced camellias, silver birch, fruit trees, flowering and canopy trees. However there was no under story structure, giving us a blank canvas to work on under.
The new under story design included both English and exotic plant species compatible with the canopy structure.
Shaun Florrimel a trusted landscaper was employed for all major works including the bocce pitch.
He did a great job and the garden is maintained carefully.
It is used to entertain family and friends and is a credit to the owners.
