Landscape Design Process
The landscape design process and how it works to provide you with a great landscape design service.
Generally you contact us by phone or email and we discuss your project with you in as much detail as possible.
We establish which of our services you require, if possible provide you with a preliminary cost guide and set up a time to get together with you to discuss your project and firm things up if required.
First Meeting – Discuss your Landscape Project
We first get to know you, your ideas, your property and its surrounding areas.
Next we explore your site, its assets and aspects, to more successfully understand requirements based on lifestyle, tastes, family and goals.
After observing your sites existing features, the neighborhood, understanding your goals and how it all interconnects and relate, we take notes, measurements, photographs, and obtain copies of any site or building plans, cad files if available and if required.
It is important that you feel like the creator of the emerging plan. At this point we can provide you with a cost estimate for the service we have agreed on.
Landscape Document Preparation
The next step in the landscape design process is the preparation of your initial Concept Plan, Landscape Design Tree Report or Landscape Consultation Report and the provision of drawings and / or documentation for comment.
Further meetings, phone calls, and emails are used as necessary to finalize things to gain your approval ensuring you are happy with what we have achieved.
This may mean you providing us with pictures, chosen materials or getting us to visit other sites to understand what is is you really like or us referring you to material suppliers, meeting at nurseries to generally discover and share with each other. Sometimes within the landscape design process we send clients movies showing our computer screen to walk you through the landscape design or landscape concept plan to develop and share with you your landscape project.
If required we can also submit your drawings for planning or permit requirements.
Landscape Contractor Selection
Once we have got it right and you are happy; we can project manage the entire landscape project for you including the employment of contractors. However you may wish to negotiate the sharing of various aspects of the design and we can provide fee estimates accordingly.
Plants and Materials
As part of our services we can organize plants and materials at wholesale prices, or advise you where to purchase your own.
Often savings gained from our knowledge of where to purchase materials, plants and the like at keen prices can offset the costs of our landscape design fees on some projects.
We are passionate about gardening, landscaping, trees, the environment often keeping in touch with clients for years after the initial landscape project.
It is great when an old client calls, has a chat and we just touch base. We like to “be there” and available into the future as we can be.
If you have any questions to ask please make contact.
3D Landscape Design or Visualisation
Sometimes clients like to visualise things
Recently a client wished to just see things a little clearer; to try to see what their completed landscape design may look or feel like.
We sent them a little 3D movie. Have a look at the images below.
The first two the landscape design
The third one a little 3D model of their landscape design
